INTRODUCTION TO MUSIC
Description & Audience:
Music In is a music therapy group designed for preschool children aged 4–5 who face challenges in social communication and interaction. The group offers a supportive, creative space where children can explore music as a bridge to connection and expression.
Targets & Vision:
Through shared musical experiences—such as drumming, singing, movement, and improvisation—children practice turn-taking, listening, expressing emotions, and initiating interactions. The vision of Music In is to use the power of music to support emotional regulation and encourage the development of new social skills in a safe, joyful environment.
Impact:
Group music therapy nurtures each child’s sense of belonging, helps reduce social anxiety, and fosters empathy. It provides a non-verbal, playful medium for building trust and forming relationships—laying essential foundations for healthy social and emotional growth.
**It is recommended and essential to combine monthly parents' guidance with Hala, who is also a certified parents' counselor. This way parents will be involved on the music therapy process of thier child. (These meetings will take place once a month on zoom).
Led by Hala Hamdan a certified music therapist and experienced music teacher, this program offers a holistic approach to early childhood development.
